so a 4" port 8.5" in length would be 106.8 sq in port area? that just doesnt sound right. did I put a decimal in the wrong spot?

IMO caps are bandaids. They only do good if you have bad wiring. A 2200 w system doesn't really require a 2nd batt either. My subs pull 1000 wrms each + my front & rears. I have single batt (yellow top), The big 3, & 1/0 ga power wire & ground. A higher output alt would be good as yours ...

they could look cool there if you mounted them on a piece of mdf cut to fit & covered to match box. If you dont want them showing you could move box closer to rear & put amps behind box between box & rear seat back. Some vehicles sound better that way. Best thing to do is install the enc...
