any math gurus?

what's the formula to calculate the port area for a round port? straight port not flared. thanks

Area of circle = pie multiplied by the (radius squared).

Pie = 3.14159...
Radius = half the diameter
Diameter = distance from one side of the circle to the other
Squared = number multiplied by itself

so a 4" port 8.5" in length would be 106.8 sq in port area? that just doesnt sound right. did I put a decimal in the wrong spot?
